Please Welcome Doctor Dozie to our Panel of Weight Loss Experts!


Dr. Dozie Onunkwo
Ph.D., Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University

 

For the first 20 years of his life, Dr. Dozie was overweight and content.  One of his mother's favorite stories about his childhood is about their visits to IHOP when he refused to eat off the kids' menu, only wanting to eat the Pancake Platter at around 7 years old.  Foods such as McDonalds, Popeyes, Chinese food, Pizza Hut, and Honey Buns were a regular part of his diet.  As he grew older, he never thought about what his eating habits were doing to his body.  He was content with being overweight, mostly because that was the only life he knew.

But at 20 years old, he was finally at the point where he was tired of having a gut.  He was tired of being ashamed of his body and decided to do something about it...NO MORE FAST FOOD. Second step was to invest in a top notch trainer.  In a 3 week intense boot camp setting Doctor Dozie gained information regarding proper nutrition and fitness training.  Now, combined with the research training he received while attaining his Ph.D. from Purdue University, Dr. Dozie continued to build upon this foundation.   In January 2011, Dr. Dozie started UnbiasedHealth.com, a health and fitness blog dedicated to providing nutrition and fitness advice based on published, scientific literature.  His work on this blog led to careers as a nutritional consultant, motivational speaker publications in numerous Health, Wellness and Fitness Resources.   

 

Dr. Dozie also work closely as a nutritional advisor and volunteer with the Lafayette-based, non-profit organization, Cooking With The Troops, a  charity that supports U.S. and Allied troops, their families, and caregivers .

 

He hopes to continue to use his nutritional expertise and business ventures as a vehicle to help improve the quality of life of individuals throughout the world through proper nutrition and active living.
